Richard J. Sherins, M.D.

After graduating from the University of California San Francisco Medical School in 1963, with honors and election to AOA, Richard J. Sherins, MD went on to his clinical residency in Internal Medicine at UCLA and then to his fellowship training in Endocrinology at the University of Washington.
Dr. Sherins is an international authority on male infertility with a distinguished 20-year career at the National Institutes of Health and sixteen subsequent years in private practice at the Genetics & IVF Institute in Northern Virginia prior to joining Columbia Fertility Associates.
He is a consultant and lecturer at numerous leading academic institutions, has authored more than 280 scientific papers, abstracts and texts in the field of Andrology and serves as a reviewer for major scientific journals.
Dr. Sherins is one of the founders and a past President of the American Society of Andrology; he was honored as the 1994 Distinguished Andrologist, and a Fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.
He is a recognized authority on male infertility, specialized sperm function testing, testicular failure and pituitary deficiency disorders.
Dr. Richard Sherins is board certified in Internal Medicine.
