Rafat A. Abbasi, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.

 Dr. Abbasi received her medical degree from the University of Sind in Karachi, Pakistan. Her residency was at St. Joseph's Hospital in Towson, MD and her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility was at Georgetown University Hospital In Washington, D.C.

Dr. Abbasi is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

Dr. Abbasi served in the United States Army for ten years and was Chief of Endocrinology at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.

She was also the Director of the In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Program at the University of Texas Medical Center in Houston.

Inclusive of her practice in Reproductive Endocrinology, Dr. Abbasi is currently chair for the Department of Gynecology at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland.

Dr. Abbasi's recent professional recognition includes being listed in in the Washingtonian Magazine's Top Doctors 2008.

Dr. Abbasi is fluent in several languages including English, French and Urdu.
